Arranging the pieces of furniture in the proper manner ensures that the area region is efficiently used.  A smart furniture arrangement can also high light a favored piece of pieces of furniture.  On the other hand, figuring out the finest method to utilize space and generate a comfortable atmosphere may be a challenging chore.  But with some planning and creativity, it may be accomplished less difficult than you believe.

Just before you move anything, you have to determine what the focal point on the area is going to be.  Concentrate your efforts all over that location or item.  Before arranging furnishings within the place, determine on what will be the focus in the room. Center your pieces of furniture arrangement all-around that focal point.   It could be something; a fireplace, a picture window, a house entertainment center or a wall painting.

Chairs really should be placed within about eight feet of every other to encourage conversation.  Position a table in such a way that it can be quickly accessible from each chair. Keep a light source near the seating location. Coffee tables should have a clearance of about 14 to 18 inches from the sofa. Side tables should be at least as tall as the arm with the chairs or sofa to make serving easy and discourage accidental spills. When arranging furniture, make sure you offer enough space to move all over the place.

Inside a multipurpose room, arrange furnishings in a very way which you divide the area into separate living and dining spaces. A strategically placed screen or curtains hung from the ceiling are simple and also inexpensive approaches to accomplish this. Be sure the area stays balanced and also that the sections or divisions don’t fight one another.  Location rugs are a wonderful approach to define areas and groupings.  Little pieces can quickly get lost in a very large area, so be certain to group them with bigger elements.

Create the Perfect Mood With Feng Shui

Published by under Feng Shui

Creating a mood in the home when you use Feng Shui is easy to do and more and more people in the

Western world are seeking this type of decorating tactic. The practice of Feng Shui takes the energy of the room and arranges furniture and decorations to create a flow of energy for that particular space. A room that is used for sleeping would be arranged to allow for peace and tranquility but every room is designed to allow for negative energy to flow away. The following are some tips for creating moods using Feng Shui:

· Doorways – The first rule is to never allow furniture or objects to block doors that lead to the outside. This is a symbol of blocking the home from opportunities. So if you have a couch that is parallel to the front door, it should be moved. Also, make sure that all paths to the doors are unencumbered so negative energy is free to flow out and the positive can make its way in.

· Command Position – This is where the larger pieces of furniture are placed in each and every room. For instance, all large pieces including the bed should face the door but be off to the side of it and your feet should never point directly at the door because it is bad luck. This is a position of great energy and many people already have their furniture placed in this manner. In an office, put the desk in the command position to be successful.

· Clutter – One of the most common things that Feng Shui teaches is that clutter is bad for good energy to be in the home and can keep the chi from being positive. Do not overstuff your rooms with stuff that is not necessary. This can be more difficult in smaller homes, but if you minimize your life and put away those things that are not necessary, you can have better energy flow and chi. You do not want too many open spaces so it is important to find a balance between clutter and good energy flow.

If you do the simplest forms of Feng Shui you can bring good energy and moods to your rooms. Remember that clutter is out but open spaces are as well. Keep your big furniture in the command position and do not let your feet point at the door when you are sleeping. One more tip is to keep windows clear for the same reason that doors that open to the outside should be kept clear.

Annual Feng Shui for the Year of the Rabbit (2011)

Published by under Feng Shui

Every residential and commercial building is affected by energy whether you can see it or not. Each year, millions of people buy, read, or come across books on how to go about setting up the arrangement of items, furniture and special features in the living space. 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit, in Chinese, it is called the Yin Metal Rabbit, or ‘xin mao’. Before we begin evaluating the Feng Shui cosmic energy for the year, we must understand that Feng Shui affects our mood, psychology, luck and many other factors in life. By going with the flow of our own cosmic system, and aligning the energy around us, we can live a much more harmonious and auspicious life. The old saying goes “One Destiny, Two Luck, Three Feng Shui”. Feng Shui has a definite bearing on our lives whether we choose to believe in it or not. Obviously education and the things we choose to do also affect our luck. If you are in a good cycle, with Feng Shui, you can enhance the good luck, on the other hand, if you are in a bad cycle, Feng Shui can help you reduce the negative impacts of bad luck.

The following is a summary of what everyone can do with limited knowledge of Feng Shui. Please note that if you are uncertain about the Feng Shui configurations of your house, hire a professional to evaluate your house. Aside from annual Feng Shui energy, you may need to take into consideration the use of other traditional Chinese methods such as Flying Stars, Eight Mansions and so forth. The annual star also has an impact on the Flying Stars which is determined by the time factor. The use of trinkets, ornaments and statues may be considered. Although some may consider them superstition, certain animals such as the Dragon, Kirin, and Pi Yao Dogs, if placed properly, can have powerful defensive qualities. If you intend to make Feng Shui changes for 2011, be sure to do so after February 4th 2011.

The Grand Duke of Jupiter (82.5º – 97.5º East)

Every year, the Asians who are into Feng Shui are always concerned firstly about where the “Grand Duke” resides for the year. It is an area where there is energetic imbalance due to its interactions with the planet Jupiter and the cosmos. This is an area that should not be disturbed. For the Year of the Rabbit, the Grand Duke is located in the East, therefore, avoid renovations and major activities in this area of the house. The inauspicious 5 star also moved into this sector which makes the east sector an even more difficult area to deal with. Things to beware of and remedies in the East sector:

• Avoid red and earth colors in this sector.
• Place six coins in a row or metal objects here.
• Brass, bronze, silver or gold dragon ornaments are also recommended.
• Pi Yao Dogs (preferably two) are of very popular ornaments used to appease the Grand Duke.
• If you have a different sector of entry into the house, try to use that instead of the east sector. If the east entrance is unavoidable, try not to bang or slam the door upon entry.
• Calabash or Wu Lu Gourd can also be used.

Annual One White Star (Northeast)

This year, the Romance Star flies to the Northeast sector. For those who are interested in enhancing their romance aspect of your lives, or increase the possibilities of meeting people, place metal and water objects in this area of your living space. The sound of metal such as a metal chiming clock or music box can do the trick. Water is also advised for this area. If you were to choose one or the other element, definitely go with metal since the Northeast area represents earth. With metal, you are providing a bridge between the earth and water energy of this area.

Annual Two Black Star (South)

The Two Black Star is often referred to as the sickness star. For 2011, this is not a good area at all as the sickness star is enhanced by the fire from the south. If the south area of your house is the bathroom, guestroom, laundry or storage room, then it is of less concern to you. In Flying Star Feng Shui, when the 2 and the 9 come together, there is a higher potential of misfortunes.

Remedies:
• Place six metal coins in this area.
• Avoid major building work or renovations. If you need to do so, hire a professional to select a date for renovations.
• Brass ingot can be used to protect wealth.
• Metal Wu Lou Gourd (Calabash) is also recommended to reduce the effects of the sickness star.
• Avoid colors of red and the use of fire (eg. Candles and electronic equipment) in this sector.
• Some books that I have come across in Hong Kong recommended placing wood in this sector to fight the earth energy. Personally, I’d rather reduce the bad energy before fighting it.

Annual Three Jade Star (North)

This star is not as bad as the Two Black Star nor the Grand Duke yet you have to be aware of arguments and disputes in this area of the house or business unit. The remedy for this area is simple. Since the Three Jade Star possesses wood energy, utilize red colors and fire-related objects to reduce the strength of the wood. Avoid using water features in this sector for the year unless and Feng Shui consultant has diagnosed this area properly utilizing Flying Stars. Do not hang wind chimes or place metallic instruments in this area.

Annual Four Green Star (Southwest)

This is often referred to as the academic or scholar star. It governs not only academic and artistic talents, but also other parts such as career, travel, wisdom, education and interpersonal relations. Unfortunately, this star flies into the Southwest sector which possesses earth energy, as a result, the academic star is weaker for this year due to its conflict with the earth energy. In order to raise the energy of the academic star, you will need to place four bamboo sticks in a water vase. Do not place plants with earth in this area as you can end up creating conflict in this sector for those who are studying. Avoid placing metal objects as it will weaken the academic star. Having a wooden bookshelf or pagoda in this area is also auspicious.

Annual Five Yellow Star (East)

As mentioned earlier about the Grand Duke, this sector is not suitable for major activities. It is not all doom and gloom when we deal with Feng Shui. The key is identifying the bad sectors and finding the proper remedies. Many traditional Chinese cures involve the use of salt water or six Chinese coins in this area. Those methods may work but it is more important to avoid disturbing this sector. Utilize more metal in this area. Please refer to the above description on the Grand Duke for remedies in this area.

Annual Six White Star (Southeast)

The Six White Star is a good star for those who want to enhance their career luck. This is also considered to be a military star which is favourable for those who are politicians or officers. Since the Six White Star possesses metal energy while the Southeast possesses wood, we would require a bridge in order to enhance the metal. To do this, place both fire and earth related items together. Logically, you would have the wood feeding the fire, and the fire strengthening the earth, then the earth can strengthen the metal. You can also place a real quartz crystal or crystal spheres in this area to activate the energy of the White Star.

Annual Seven Robbery Star (Center)

This year, the ‘Broken Soldier’ star is imprisoned in the center palace. This star represents robbery, deception, theft, gossips and back stabbing. This star must be taken care of or there may be possibilities of loss of wealth and break-ins. Do NOT use red colors in the center of your house and try to avoid candles and electronic equipment here. Metal chimes and metallic instruments must also be avoided here. The best remedy for this sector is to place water here. If you intend to use water features in this sector, ensure that the water flows slowly. Water that is crashing or vibrant in this area would accidentally activate the robbery star. If in doubt, you can always upgrade your security and alarm system.

Annual Eight White Star (Northwest)

Out of all the stars, the eight star is the most auspicious since it is governing the flying star for this period until 2023. The auspicious earth energy of the eight star resides in a metal area where its fortunes are reduced for 2011. For those who like to place crystals at home, this is the area where it should belong in for this year. The best quality of handpicked quartz crystals is recommended and they have to be place properly and visible in the northwest for 2011. Wealth and fame will also be found in this area of the world and I will cover this next month in my annual predictions for 2011. If your bedroom is located in the northwest, you can also consider placing an amethyst crystal here to strengthen the Eight White Star. The northwest should also be free of clutter. Many Chinese tend to place 8 white pebbles aligned in a shape of a cross like the image shown in the stars chart. The white pebbles can also strengthen and solidify the earth energy in this sector.

Annual Nine Purple Star (West)

This is supposed to be a very auspicious star since it is considered a ‘future’ wealth star with an auspicious influence in this current period. For 2011, the Nine Purple Star, representative of fire energy is in conflict with the metal energy of the west. To make matters worse, the Annual Three Killings reside in this sector. Do not place metal objects in this area as you may end up disturbing the negative energy of the Three Killings. It is best to hold back renovations or major activities in this area of the house for 2011. Remedies for this area would include water and wood objects. Green plants or fresh flowers grown in water would be your best solution. If you are interested in placing Chinese ornaments to take care of the Three Killings, many would use 2 kirin dogs facing the Three Killings.

Summary

This report presents you with many options in terms of what you can do to disperse the negative energy for 2011 and enhance specific sectors of your home. This is by no means a cure-all method as the Annual Flying Stars is only one aspect of a complete system of Feng Shui. In order to maximize the use of Feng Shui, you may wish to consult a professional Feng Shui practitioner who would be able to calculate the Flying Stars of your house based on time, and incorporate the Eight Mansions theory to locate sectors related to your health, wealth and career. Remember that energies of the house change often and is by no means static. The incorporation of a professional Four Pillars of Destiny reading can provide a greater accuracy in determining all your favourable and unfavourable directions.

Feng Shui is not just about balance and harmony, it is also about going with the flow of your own cosmic system. It is very difficult to maximize the use of Feng Shui methods without the understanding of the person and the cosmic energy that one possesses.

I hereby wish everyone a happy and healthy Year of the Rabbit!

Understand Feng Shui – Creating Harmony in Your Living Space

Published by under Feng Shui

Asian cultures have embraced the idea of your home’s interior affecting your sense of well being and peace for generations. Interest in this form of interior decorating for both home and office is burgeoning in the West as non-Asians discover the idea of living in a harmonic atmosphere. Simply understanding Feng Shui and its principals can enable you to fully enjoy creating harmony in your living space.

Feng Shui is a term used of the practice involving the placement of objects and the use of colors in a home to bring balance into a person’s life. Different materials and colors are thought to have effects on the energy and state-of-mind of an individual. To strictly adhere to this tradition in your décor, you’ll want to remove clutter and simplify the living area first, and then configure that living space with the elements arranged in a pattern designed to conduct good energy throughout the room.

The term “feng” means wind, and the term “shui” translates into the word water. Thus, we have wind and water, two of the basic elements in almost every culture’s vocabulary. The Feng Shui method embraces the elements of wood, fire, earth, water and metal. The “feng” or “wind” and fire are often synonymous. Using different materials and colors to represent these elements, your interior design would create spaces in your home where these elements blend harmoniously and offer you a space where you can achieve optimal energy (chi) flow.

While there is no scientific basis upon which to base using this method it does seem to work for those who practice it. Perhaps it is the simplification and the basic elemental and natural approach that makes it so eye-appealing, as well. Understanding Feng Shui can be an asset in creating harmony in your living space, and giving it a unique style, too.

Small Changes That Can Have Big Effects

Published by under Feng Shui

“If you take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves. You can gain more control over your life by paying closer attention to the little things,” according to Emily Dickinson, 1830-1886.

Gaining more control over your life, that’s exactly what Feng Shui and its principles are about. It’s only when you are in control can you create balance in your life. Balance, however can have many different definitions at various times in your life and can vary greatly from what creates balance for you versus the lives of your friends and family members.

Take Control of the Little Things

Now is the perfect time to make those small changes by doing internal fall cleaning, both in your home and the things you’ve surrounded yourself with; and your thoughts, pre-conceived notions and the walls you’ve psychologically built around yourself. This is one of the best times for cleaning and uncluttering so you can make room for new energy to enter your life when the new year arrives. You need to make room for new thinking, things, relationships and prosperity physically and psychologically so you can prevent anything negative from 2009 and 2010 to linger and hold you back in 2011. Today is:

• The best time to remove the cobwebs
• To evaluate and implement the lessons you’ve learned through this process
• And get rid of any constipating negative energy.

It is the unresolved issues, the incorrect influences of others and the fear of change that creates negative energy within just like clutter and the wrong furniture or the wrong colors on your walls create negative stagnant energy in your surroundings – energy that prevents you from being in control and making room for successful new energy to enter.

Begin Today with Your Surroundings

Check each room in your home and office; make sure they are clutter free so new energy can enter and flow freely.

Begin in your bedroom so you can sleep well every night and wake up refreshed in the morning. Get rid of things in your closet and drawers that don’t fit right, look great on you or make you feel great wearing them. Remove everything from under your bed so regenerating energy can flow freely around you while sleeping resulting in a better night’s sleep. And, eliminate or enclose all high energy electronic equipment including televisions and computers from the bedroom.

Move onto to the kitchen, eliminate clutter from countertops, keep the refrigerator and pantry full of fresh food and get rid of things in cabinets and drawers that you haven’t used in years – this makes room for good health and prosperity to enter. Always keep a bowl of fresh fruit or colorful faux fruit on the counter or table to energize abundance. Follow this process in every room of the house including your office whether at home or at the workplace.

Next, check on the placement of your furniture – make sure your furniture does not inhibit the flow of energy throughout. Do you have too much furniture or is it too large for your space, if yes get rid of the pieces you do not love. Overcrowding of your space creates blocked energy and prevents the flow of new energy that carries prosperity. Also make sure that you can easily move around furniture to get to other rooms and down a hallway or up the stairs. If you can’t do it, neither can energy flow throughout.

Follow this simple formula to make changing the little things easier, especially if you want to eliminate negative thinking and preconceived notions: A + E + I = BS.

• A = acknowledge that something either needs to or has changed.
• E = evaluate just what happened that caused the inaccurate thinking or actions and to learn the appropriate lessons paving the way for change or new energy.
• I = implement changes in your thinking which is what makes the old issues or events disappear and allows for that wonderful new restorative energy to enter.
• BS = balanced self which is the mental state you need to be in for energy to shift and new thinking and events to happen.

When you start with the little things such as uncluttering your home, you will find that the shift in energy will encourage you to make the same type of changes within. The big result or big effects from small changes will be an in control, anxiety-free confident you.

Living With Feng Shui

Published by under Feng Shui

Feng Shui can be defined in many ways, depending on how you perceive it. Some people may believe it to be a handful of home remodeling guide that will lead you to gain success in life. Other people may say that Feng Shui is simply remodeling and redecorating in order to improve the look and energy of the home so that the way of living and feel of the home can be changed. This article can provide the basics of the Feng Shui belief in order to use the most affordable and useful objects to improve the harmony of the home.

Energy

The ultimate aim is to take away the negative energy and enhance the positive energy instead. By eliminating the pointed features and ornaments in the home, negative energy can greatly be eliminated. Rock walls, spiky wood panels, vaulted ceilings, and very big fireplaces can be a great hindrance as well. It is recommended to go for architectural details like a round kitchen counter corners in order to enhance the lively feel of the home.

Colors

All of us have an idea that colors in our environment have an influence on our moods and emotions. It is a must that we buy colors that can bring out the positive vibe in our homes such as blue which can make the room relaxing the moment you enter it. The color red and yellow are also good choices in order to trigger originality, especially in workplaces.

Shapes

You must avoid angular or pointed furniture or objects inside your home for this can only trigger the negative vibe. If you cannot really do anything about it, you can use accessories like soft and round pillows and other objects that are circular so that the negative energy can be countered easily.

Furniture Arrangement

The arrangement of the furniture in a room has to cause happiness and calmness. You can simply try to place the chairs and sofas facing the entryway of the home in order to stimulate control and maintain a watch on the people who will enter the home. Moreover, you must keep in mind that everything has to remain balanced and at the same time, what is more comfy to you. Balancing the room by putting heavy furniture at one side and leaving the other with light furniture can greatly help the home.

Walls

As for walls, it is very frustrating if you open a door and you find a wall that hinders you. If you cannot do anything about this again, you can put up a wonderful artwork or a flowering houseplant on it so that the positive feel of it can be enhanced. Also, you must not put mirrors in walls that face the door for this can greatly hinder the positive flow of energy.

Organization

In all parts of the room, you must maintain them fresh, beautiful and full of positive energy in order to stay organized as well. If you cannot think straight in your room, then you must clear out the clutter and mess so that you will no longer feel confused and the negative feelings that you have will be eliminated from your body system. If you are really in a tight budget in remodeling your home, the best partner for you is Feng Shui.

Feng Shui For Business Success

Published by under Feng Shui

Many businesses request a consultation either prior to setting up their own business or to give an existing business an energy boost.

Clients often believe that by placing certain objects around the business, that there will be a change in the business dynamics. And, yes, while the flow of the energy inside the shop can be improved, these are often minor changes that may or may not have lasting consequences for the business bottom line.

True Feng Shui, as opposed to popular Feng Shui, can result in incredible transformations. However, the transformations are often for the business owners, and not necessarily for the business.

There are various levels of influence in our lives, acknowledged in Feng Shui as Heaven Luck, Human Luck and Earth Luck. Each contributes about one third weighting on the success or failure of your business venture. A good Feng Shui professional will look at teach of these levels of influence, and make their recommendations accordingly. A wise client will also appreciate that a worthy Feng Shui consultation is more like a business check up, rather than an interior design makeover.

Heaven Luck includes your karma – whether you are destined to succeed or struggle. It is reaping what you have formerly sown. Your karma is a result of your actions in previous times, including your early life in this body. So, for example, if you have been devious as a younger adult, this may catch up with you in your current venture. Wherever you may not have honoured your integrity in the past, be prepared to graciously put things right.

Heaven luck is basically out of our control, but being aware of it can bring a philosophical perspective into a situation, to encourage an upbeat attitude. Being aware of your heaven luck, allows you to target your energy into appropriate ventures. It can reveal whether the business you have chosen is the right type of venture for you to be involved in.

Heaven Luck also manifests as being in the right time at the right place to grab a golden opportunity, and a heaven luck reading can pinpoint those times for you.

Remember too, that your actions now are shaping your future heaven luck.

Within the Feng Shui framework, a heaven luck reading can be achieved with a Four Pillars Chinese Astrology or Destiny consultation. Such a consultation allows you to identify repeating patterns or themes in your life. It can also advise whether your life is destined for major power, influence or wealth. It can even comment on your marriage.

No investigation is useful if it doesn’t supply some solutions. The solutions provided in a destiny consultation include being shown how to strengthen your personal power and identifying the critical time periods of great stress and great opportunity, with accompanying advice on how to proceed wisely through such times.

You may also learn of the timing of your life path, so that ou can prepare for the upcoming opportunities, but also batten down for anticipated storms.

You can compare a heaven luck consultation to learning about the weather patterns and ocean currents on the voyage you are preparing for, so that you can plan and take action accordingly

Human luck comes as a result of your own efforts. It represents our education – formal and informal – your drive and determination and your discipline, and all those other personal qualities that you bring into play in your theatre of business.

Human luck is summed up by sayings, such as “the harder you work, the luckier you get”.

It is well recognised that most people launching into a business venture are notoriously under-prepared. As a business owner or entrepreneur, you can maximise your human luck by learning as much as you possibly can about the business you are involved with and about running a successful business. Get yourself some mentors, enrol in business courses, have a good professional team supporting you, such as lawyers, accountants, bookkeepers and other appropriate professionals.

Human luck is also about attitude, positivity and kindness. It is about how you choose to see the world and how you react to it.

Your prosperity awareness is also linked into this. One Master who has done many years of Feng Shui research has observed that clients who haggle over the fee get less benefit from her consultations, than clients who happily accept the price and even pay beyond the Master’s requests. The clients who haggle already have doubts about the potency of the Feng Shui consultation, and are hedging their bets. They are already demonstrating self-limiting beliefs that preclude unlimited prosperity from washing over them.

In the same vein, clients who coax the Feng Shui professional into using their most potent arrangements to bring them sudden wealth, often find that they are mentally and emotionally unprepared for the sudden change of circumstances, and revert back to their original situation before too long. You need lots of inner strength to cope with large degrees of manifested changes. As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for.

So a true Feng Shui professional needs to ascertain your comfort levels regarding change, and choose their Feng Shui applications accordingly, so that your sense of self does not collapse. They will match the power of the cure to your ability to handle it. Equally, cures will only work as well as you expect them to.

Earth luck is the area of what people know as Feng Shui. It is the physical energy of your environment impacting on your self, your customers and ultimately on your business venture.

As a business owner, you need to select your business location very carefully.

When inspecting a potential property. Always ask what happened to the previous tenants. Did they move on to another location because of expansion of the business, or did they get out of the business because of poor trade. Do not expect your real estate agent to divulge this information. They want your business, so they will put a positive spin on almost any circumstances. So be prepared to do some detective work, or ask neighbouring businesses.

A golden Feng Shui rule is the Predecessor Rule, which says that if nothing in the environment is changed, then whatever happened to the previous occupant is likely to happen to future occupants. The predecessor rule also applies to residential properties. A location that has seen some unpleasant incidents needs a lot of correction before positive energy flows in.

So take particular care when moving into bargain properties. This is when you really benefit from a good Feng Shui consultation. But also be prepared to put the recommendations into effect.

Over seventy percent of the Feng Shui influence comes from outside the business premises. Location, location, location is certainly true in Feng Shui as it is in Real Estate.

Inside your business premises you can control a limited amount of Feng Shui. Once your customers have actually come to you, you can influence whether they respond positively to what they find inside your business premises.

A good rule of thumb in Feng Shui is that Bad Feng Shui is anything that regularly annoys you. So if you are working in your place of business and you hate the carpet, or the afternoon glare that comes into your premises, then do something to fix it.

A lot of good information about how to select colours, arrange furniture and place fittings in a business are found in retail marketing literature. A specialised branch of marketing has emerged called Retail Atmospherics, which looks at how consumers respond in various retail arrangements.

There are generally two types of Feng Shui consultations that can be conducted to ascertain the quality of earth luck pervading your business premises.

The first type is a Ch’i analysis conducted from physical observation of the interior and exterior of your premises. The consultant will assess the quality of Ch’i and make relevant recommendations to clear away harmful Ch’i and to maximise helpful Ch’i.

The other type of Feng Shui consultation is to map the Ch’i flow by taking directional readings, and noting the direction of your entrance, your desk orientation, your cash register and other relevant placements. After mapping the flow of the energy of the premises, the consultant will make decisions on what is required in what area.

The limitations of a Feng Shui consultation.

A consultant can only make recommendations and trust that their clients will follow them through. When confronted with resistance from the clients, a consultant may offer alternative solutions, but be aware that compromises offer less than the ideal outcome.

At the most basic level, a Feng Shui consultation can focus simply on the environmental situation. However, a quality Feng Shui consultation will incorporate the more esoteric components of a destiny reading for the business owner and a building energy analysis. A lot of the time, clients do not realise how much more profound and meaningful such an expanded consultation can bring.

Otherwise, they may as well bring in an Interior Designer.

5 Easy Tips to Feng Shui Your Bedroom

Published by under Interior Decorating

One of the most popular places to practice fend shui is in the bedroom. The bedroom is one room in your home that should be a peaceful retreat, and with feng shui, you can create the proper setting in which to get restful sleep every night. Feng shui is a method by which you can design and decorate a balanced room that’s infused with positive energy.

There are several feng shui guidelines to follow in the bedroom, but some are more important than others. Consider some of these helpful feng shui tips to get you on your way to a balanced and peaceful bedroom.

1. The main feng shui element in the room should be your bed.
In your bedroom, a wood bed is the primary source of intimate, personal energy. You want your bed to meet your every need, from the headboard to the mattress. So if you have to make a choice, choose to invest your money in the bed.

2. By placing the bed in a feng shui position, you can create optimal positive energy and love.
When arranging the room, you should be able to see the doorway from the bed, but it shouldn’t be directly in line with the door. The bed should also be on a strong supporting wall.

3. According to feng shui, both sides of your bed need to be balanced in energy.
This means you have the choice of placing side tables on both sides of the bed or on neither side. Also, try to keep any sharp angles—either from the tables or from the other furniture in the room—from facing the bed.

4. When you remove the television, you maintain balance in the room.
The less electricity flowing through your bedroom the better, as removing as many electrical appliances as possible is a key part of feng shui. EMFs can cause an internal imbalance, and your body doesn’t take them in when you remove electrical flow from the room. Also, when you don’t have the distraction of a television or computer, you’ll be able to get better sleep at night.

5. When designing your bedroom, don’t get obsessed with the rules of feng shui.
You may not be able to follow all the correct feng shui recommendations if your bedroom is small. If you focus too much on what’s “correct,” you may end up feeling stressed out and disappointed. Keep in mind that, in the end, feng shui is really about positive energy. If you do what you can with the space you have, then you’ll be able to make the room comfortable for you.

Some people may not believe in feng shui; others may find it too difficult to incorporate into their décor. However, the basic principle is simply to have the healthiest, most comfortable room possible. Feng shui decorating is accompanied by a long philosophical tradition, which demonstrates exactly how these principles can improve your sense of being and your life. If you’re looking to improve your bedroom or simply the feel of your oak bedroom furniture with some feng shui techniques, these tips can help get you started.

Feng Shui Art Tips For the Bedroom, Kitchen and Living Room

Published by under Feng Shui

Alternatively, it can be a skillful use of the existing artworks that you have at home, or redesigning parts of the interior and exterior. The goal of the artistic use of feng shui is to achieve the most beneficial flow of the energies in your premises.

Feng shui for a living room will be different than that for a kitchen, bedroom, or the yard. First, you need to ensure that each room in your home bears the right combination of shapes and colors. This will help to attract and retain the positive energies, and eliminate the negative ones. Following are some tips.

Bedroom Feng Shui Art: The golden rule of Feng Shui is to avoid the oversaturation of the bedroom with bright and obtrusive colors, which may violate your peace of mind.

You can create a serene and relaxing atmosphere in the bedroom using the muted shades of purple, lilac, yellow, blue, white and gray. You also need to try to avoid sharp angles and geometric shapes in the bedroom. Choose a bed made of wood instead of metal, as metal conducts electricity, which repels the positive Chi energy. Choose soft linens and bedspreads in pastel colors. Consider using crystal balls, pretty curtains and drapes, and red decor elements (red pillows or candles). Red is the color of love and warmth.

The ceiling can be decorated with stars. Try to avoid large plants, aquariums, fountains, and equipment (computers, televisions and video-consoles).

Kitchen Feng Shui Art: The kitchen should not have too much red, pink or orange. These are the colors of the fire element, which can provoke quarrels. It’s best to use light, cool colors: white, light green, light blue, etc. The kitchen combines the elements of fire and water. In line with this, the best color is white, as it balances the fire and water. The kitchen appliances and accessories made of stainless steel will also add to this balance.

Some kitchens have fluorescent lighting, which is popular due to its bright light and low cost. Yet, fluorescent light is bad for the kitchen, as it constantly flickers and adversely affects the eyes and the nervous system (it may raise blood and intraocular pressure, and cause headaches). If you can not do without the fluorescent light in the kitchen, consider adding at least one regular incandescent bulb.

Living Room Feng Shui Art: It’s important to balance your living room. You can energize it using crystal, create a sense of depth using mirrors, and improve the energy flows using plants, wall lights, and bells.

If your living room is the most active room, then increase the active Yang. If it’s a place of rest, then increase the calmer Yin. The optimal is the combination of quiet and rich colors, dynamic and smooth forms. Try to use more natural light, which should be bright but not too sharp. The artificial lighting (table lamps, chandeliers, and sconces) will help to regulate the light intensity depending on your mood.

To soften the room, choose furniture with rounded corners. The plants (including climbers), drapery, and accessories will also help soften the sharp corners.
