Surround Sound Speakers For Realistic Sounds

Published by under Audio & Video

If you are looking to create the most realistic sound for music and television at home, surround sound speakers are the way to go. There are some specifics to keep in mind as you consider your surround sound needs, so it is important to get some basic information about surround sound speakers before you buy.

To get the best surround sound speaker system in your home, you need to make sure you get enough speakers. Anywhere from four to seven speakers is standard. You need to place two to three speakers in front of the viewing and/or listening area. You will also want two to three speakers on the sides and/or behind the viewing and listening area. This is because whether you are playing a CD or DVD the audio signal is sent throughout what are called multiple channels, which means different sounds are sent through different speakers for a multi-dimensional sound experience. This is what brings surround sound speakers to life!

The most important sounds will come out of the front placed speakers. For instance, a main melody line or dialogue in a movie will be played out from the front. However, if you are watching a movie and a mom is calling her child from another room onscreen, you may hear the call from the side or behind you – this is what makes surround sound so exciting! You feel like you are right in the middle of the story taking place in front of you.

There is usually a speaker, of the front three that is directly in the middle of the entire audio setup, either above or below the television screen is the most logical place. This placement is crucial because it acts as an anchor for the sounds coming from the side speakers and coordinates all the dialogue and sound effects for a seamless sound experience.

The audio signal is split up into these multiple channels by the audio visual receiver, also known as the AV receiver. This is where all the work gets done. The receiver literally receives input from various sources, such as a VCR, DVD player, gamin console, or satellite system and then interprets those signals and sends them to all the other devices in the home theater system – including the surround sound speakers.

Surround sound comes in different formats, Dolby Laboratories and Digital Theater Systems (DTS). These two companies offer a wide variety of sound choices, but knowing some basics is helpful. DTS does not compress their sound as much as Dolby, this means that DTS sound is crisper. The downside is that DTS is not often used for DVD and tv formats, so you may not get the most out of viewing those programs. Most DVDs use Dolby sound options, but may also offer DTS sound options.

Whatever you choose, just know there are tons of surround sound speakers available to suit your needs and make your home theater dreams come true!

Polk Speakers – Among the Best in the Industry

Published by under Audio & Video

If you are looking for the best audio equipment around, you should start your search with Polk Speakers. This is because Polk can provide you with the highest quality in audio technology. Polk has years of experience creating speakers and sound systems designed with consumer needs for home music and audio in mind.

Polk produces speakers that come in many varieties, one of which is their LSi series, which offers the highest level of sonic accuracy. The LSi series is built with superior components and state of the art technologies to revolutionize any music or movie experience. The best part about Polk speakers is not only are they the best technology available today, they are beautifully crafted so they truly add to a home’s décor. Extra special details like hand-rubbed black lacquer or real wood side-panels make Polk speakers stand out from the rest.

Polk speakers come in different types and sizes to suit all your audio needs. The most popular style are floor standing speakers, which are tower-style speakers meant to be used in pairs. As the main speakers in a home audio system, they are meant to stand out, and therefore are taller and can provide tons of sound. They are the perfect beginning component to get high quality stereo sound.

Polk speakers also come in smaller varieties, called bookshelf speakers. These are just as technologically advanced as their floor standing speakers, however they are meant to accommodate smaller spaces and can often fit into a space that size of a common bookshelf. In this way, bookshelf speakers can fit into any lifestyle and yet provide any home with the highest quality audio available. Bookshelf speakers can also be used in larger rooms to add to the sound in a room.

If you are looking to create a home theater system, Polk speakers can provide you with everything you need. In this case, you will absolutely want to consider obtaining a center channel speaker. This is probably the most important speaker in a home theater audio system. That is because the center channel speaker acts as a type of anchor and directs the most important sounds in music and movies to this speaker. For example, you will hear all dialogue and main sounds from this speaker when watching a movie, while other sounds may be sent to other speakers.

Polk speakers are also available as subwoofers. Anyone who is interested in getting super low sounds from their audio system should consider subwoofers. This is because a subwoofer can clarify lower frequencies to keep them from sounding muffled or distorted which can often happen with other speakers that are not technologically advanced enough to handle low sounds properly.

Another Polk speaker solution for surround sound is the SurroundBar, which is a complete surround sound solution, all in one component containing different channels. This helps create a surround sound experience without all the extra speakers. With all these choices, just keep in mind, there are Polk speakers available for all your audio needs.
